Any person in their teen years is susceptible to the influence of other teenagers, and indeed will probably do his/her share of influencing of the fellow teenagers.
But for a person who is suffering from teenage depression he/she is more easily influenced by his peers. This is because he/she views the peer group as being the only source of sympathy they will get for their low depressive feelings, and this is especially true if the depression in the teenager has been allowed to progress untreated.
In this instance, the teenager will readily identify with the other teens, after all, “What do parents know about growing up”?!!!
